WORCESTER – Hot Dog! Worcester Bravehearts were renamed Tuesday night as the Coney Island Hot Dogs, beating out another tasty Worcester institution, Table Talk Pies, for the coveted honor.
John W. S. Creedon Jr., owner of the Worcester Bravehearts (and the man who passed out free Spag’s statue bobbleheads at a Bravehearts game last year), and Dave Peterson, general manager of the baseball team, came up with the promotional campaign in which the Bravehearts would briefly be renamed the Pies or the Hot Dogs (in honor of Table Talk Pies or George’s Coney Island Hot Dogs).
